If after using the login credentials provided by your district to log in to SORA/OverDrive you are unable to log in and are getting an error message such as “no user found,” then you will need to adjust the setting in Google to allow for "less secure apps." (OverDrive has been set up to utilize a method Google provides to authenticate users).  Below is how to turn on the “allow less secure apps” feature.  You can also view this short video that will walk you through the process.

  1. Log in to your Google account.Google_sign_in.png
  2. Click on your Google image in the upper right corner
  3. Click on Manage your Google Account from the popup
  4. On the left-hand side select Security
    1. Scroll down about ¾ of the way down until you findLess secure app access
  5. Toggle the “off” to “on.”  You may be prompted to enter your password to be able to do so. Use the back arrow to go back to the main ‘Security screen
  6. It should look like this: 
  7. Navigate back to soraapp.com or the SORA app.  Refresh the page and try logging in.
